With spotty FB updates noted patiently by loyal customers throughout the month of December, El Greco finally hung it up on December 31, according to the Examiner. See below:
Around lunchtime on New Year’s Eve, the doors of the restaurant were locked and the lights were out. Uneaten food (what looked like rolls) was seen on at least two tables inside the restaurant. In one of El Greco’s nearly empty glass cases sat some lonely looking baked goods.
Wedged between the two front doors was a piece of mail dated Dec. 21 from Pyramid Properties Inc., the landlord of Guadalupe 31, the mixed-used building where El Greco rents space. A bright yellow sticker slapped on one of the glass doors indicated that a linen service had some of its linens and uniforms locked inside the eatery.
I am only faintly bummed as I still haven't been back since the taping for the show in September. I wanted to see how warty it could have been without the cameras present. Because even with the crew, our meal wasn't completely without lumps.
Though I am still held by the NDA that asked I not disclose production secretes until the show airs, I will bot blog about filming at El Greco. YET. But I cannot wait to dish. I will say this: it wasn't Gordon Ramsay's fault!
Show airs on the 20th...

Then you can dish away...
I've been reading and reading about the issues that el greco was having. I am dismayed that in the postings I have seen the remarks made to gordon ramsay possibly being at fault have been plastered, but upon watching the show, the owners did state that they was heading for financial ruin. I'm sorry to see any restaurant close, especially a family run business. But with the economy the way it is. of course people are going to get their money one way or another and refuse any explanation as to why they cant pay for a few weeks. I'm sure that if the companies gave them some leeway then the business would have recovered.
